How we Start a Project for a Client

Jani King of Austin project was started by gather information about the client (Commercial Cleaning Services), the audience (local businesses), location (Austin) and overall aesthetics that the client was looking for, in the jkaustin.us the over them clean and simple, with crisp light colors.



Business Communication Solutions-SEO used Keyword Tools to select relevant Focused Keyword Phrases for the website. Each phrase had to meet certain criteria, we asked ourselves…



1. Was the keyword relevant to the site, audience and location?

2. Did the keywords have local searches?

3. How many other websites where using the same keyword?



Based on this information we narrowed the keyword phrases down to 3 to 5 based on each topic of the site with 1 main Focus Keyword Phrase.



Once the keyword phrases where chosen, we requested the logo and other graphics and content (text) for the website from the client.



We then begin the design and layout process. We start by creating all the webpage’s, creating a relevant naming convention using a keyword. We then choose a layout for the website based on the size and shape of the logo and if any other images will be on the webpage. Next we choose a color scheme based of the colors of the logo, in general we would us colors from the logo and complementary colors to enhance the appearance of the website. Color scheme and layout is a important step in the design process as a visitor’s first impression of a website if based on color and layout.



The next step is creating Titles and Descriptions for each page, inserting these into the Meta tags. Several types of Meta Tags are used from the standard Meta Tags, to OG (Open Graphic Meta Tags). Open Graphic Meta Tags are used to allow Social Networks to access, and retrieve webpage titles and descriptions from the websites to display on sites such as Facebook.com. We then begin writing or editing content using the relevant keywords phrases, remembering that all content must be relevant to the topic of the page and that the content must be written to entice visitors to hire the company.
